Community rules
Posts go live the moment you post them — there's no one holding your post for approval. That only works if everyone follows a few rules.
Don't post
- Any official's name with their title (a judge, officer, probation officer, DA, prosecutor, detective, etc.) — even a compliment. Held for a quick check instead of published, to protect both you and them.
- Case numbers, docket numbers, or anything that could identify a specific person's case.
- Anyone's phone number, email, street address, or Social Security number.
- Slurs or targeted harassment.
- More than 2 links in one post.
What happens if you break a rule
Phone numbers, emails, addresses, case numbers, SSNs, too many links, and slurs are rejected automatically and you're told exactly what to remove — fix it and repost. Naming an official holds your post for a quick human check rather than publishing or rejecting it outright.
Be kind
This is peer to peer. Assume everyone reading is going through something hard. If you see a post that shouldn't be up, use the Report button under it — 3 reports takes it down for a quick look.
Posting limits
New accounts (under 24 hours old) can post up to 2 tips a day; established accounts up to 10 a day. This keeps the directory from getting flooded and makes it harder for a spam account to do damage before anyone notices.
